iseg VHS 4-channel modules for beam control at the proton therapy plant at the "Paul Scherrer Institute" (Switzerland)

At the Swiss "Paul Scherrer Institute", 4-channel VHS modules from the iseg
Spezialelektronik GmbH are in use for beam control at the new
proton therapy plant.

These modules had been adjusted to this mode of operation by a two-year cooperation of
people responsible for hardware at the "Paul Scherrer Institute" and people responsible for
development at the iseg Spezialelektronik GmbH.

The development of a HV-module with channels of different output voltage as well as the
output of an interlock signal for postswitched electronics through a 3-pin LEMO-socket
are some of the adjustments, which had been carried out.
The circuit that is responsible for the interlock signal was developed at the PSI and iseg
integrated it into the existing hardware. Furthermore, some elementary changes of the
firmware had been carried out.
